BIOGRAPHY

Micah Dombrower is a composer and conductor based in the Denver metro area. His compositions include opera, musical theater, art songs, chamber works, and large ensemble works. He has participated in Really Spicy Opera’s Aria Institute as a composer and the CU Boulder Orchestral Conducting Symposium, Conducting Programs International, and the SOA International Saito Conducting Workshop as a conductor. He also enjoys performing on piano, keyboard, and percussion for jazz, rock, religious, and other engagements. He grew up playing French horn, piano, and baritone saxophone in orchestras and jazz ensembles.
Micah graduated from St. Olaf College with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, Composition Emphasis. There he played piano in the St. Olaf Jazz Combo and St. Olaf jazz bands and sang in the St. Olaf Chapel Choir and St. Olaf Viking Chorus. He studied composition with Justin Merritt, Timothy Mahr, Yan Pang, and Mary Ellen Childs; conducting with Steven Amundson, Timothy Mahr, Anton Armstrong, Markand Thakar, and Wayne Toews; piano with Kathryn Ananda-Owens, Christopher Atzinger, Alejandro Cremaschi, and David Korevaar; and voice with James McKeel and KrisAnne Weiss.
